    Open source software like Firefox, ubuntu come to you without any cost. They run on donations to maintain the server cost.

    It would be a good idea to download these free software through torrent as it will help the organizations to cut download their bandwidth costs and better use it for technological enhancements.

    For example, most of the Linux distributions are available through torrents. Instead of downloading it through web why not use torrent?

  2. Share movies and other files with your friends who have slow internet connection
    No, I am not talking about hollywood movies, cause that is illegal.

    But if you have a home movie of your kid, or last weekend party that you want to share with your friends over the internet.

    One way would be to send it through email which would take lot of time and chances are that if your friend has slow internet connection it might not download properly.

    You can easily create a torrent of your movie and email the torrent file through which your friend can download the file directly from you.

    There are many legal torrent sites that offer free and legal downloads of movies. These are usually sites that contain classic movies that are copyleft or into public domain.


    If you are someone who likes old classic movies and stuff, than you may consider this option.

  4. Save your website bandwidth
    If you have a web site which offers software downloads, you can easily create torrents and hence save money on your bandwidth costs.

    If you have a blog which is hosted on blogger free hosting, where you cannot upload your own stuff. You can again create a torrent and easily make it available for your readers!

    If you don’t know what a screencast is then go to YouTube and you will find many videos that will show how to do something on the Photoshop.
