India comes up with a "Nano" Laptop for $10 (Rs 500)

Soon the world is going to witness a $10 laptop made in India!
The prototype of this laptop was developed by students of Vellore institute of technology[link] and funded by Government of India. Hence, the manufacturing cost came down. The purpose is of course to be used for education.
The per unit cost of the prototype was around $20 which should come to $10 when manufactured at a large scale. That is 1/10th time cheaper than the cheapest laptop available in the US.
The project was born when India rejected the OLPC offer for a laptop for $100. Reason? the offer was too expensive!
What is $10 laptop going to have?
There is no official announcement about the features.
Rumors are Most probably it is going to offer a Linux system with basic programs of Word processing, Presentation and Internet surfing. (Similar to EeePC laptop)
