This is the most easy way to try Linux. All you have to do is download an ISO image of the Operating System and Install it on a CD.

Restarting your computer with the CD in the drive will show you different options. You can choose run it as Live CD.

Pros: Takes no time to install, Runs as soon as you want, You can try almost everything.
Cons: Runs a bit slower, Cannot install software.

If you do not want to touch your hard disk. Install Ubuntu on pen drive. Many people do it as an alternative of having a Laptop!

Pros: Very good alternative of having a laptop. Keep your settings/Files with you on the go. Try Ubuntu without disturbing your PC settings.

Cons: Limited space.

For those who don’t know. You can use Virtual Box to create a virtual computer inside your computer and Install Linux on it.

Option 4.– Install it on a old computer (Recommended Xubuntu flavour of ubuntu)
Linux works great on older Computers. So if you have a old computer in the store room. You can consider using Linux on it.

Linux handles old computer pretty well than you may think. For older computers Xubunutu (a lighter version of Ubuntu, designed specifically for slow computers.)

Option 5.– Install it as a Windows Software
Ubuntu can be installed as a software on your PC. Just like you have Word Excel Powerpoint and Photoshop, you can have Linux and give it a try.
