There is a common misconception i have found amongst people that as a computer gets old it will run slower.Applications like Photoshop may take a lot of time to open.

While it is true that over a longer span of 6-8 years you might get outdated but there always ways to increase the speed by optimizing the Windows.

Here is a list of steps you can undertake to increase the speed of your PC >

  1. Format the PC
    Format the computer and install a fresh installation of OS, Windows XP or 7.

    Over the time Windows gets slow because of the old registry keys and unused memory. Formatting the PC cleans the system up and frees the unused memory.

    It is the best way to increase the speed of your computer. (Once you format the PC you will notice difference in file copy speed and applications opening)
